Extract text from Visionaire game archives (THX)

The .thx extension primarily identifies a proprietary game resource container used by the Visionaire Studio engine. Popularized by point-and-click adventure titles like Deponia and The Whispered World, these files act as massive, encrypted zip-like archives (often gigabytes in size) that bundle a game's logic, character sprites, background textures, and audio assets.
The biggest obstacle for users is the format's "black box" nature; you cannot simply double-click a .thx file to view the art or play the music. It is a compiled binary designed to be read only by the game executable, locking content away from casual access or modification. To use these assets elsewhere, you typically need to "unpack" or convert the container using specialized scripts (like QuickBMS) or the engine itself.
For archival or editing, the goal is extraction rather than direct conversion: convert internal textures to PNG or WebP for viewing, and extract audio streams to OGG or WAV for listening.
A secondary, rarer use of this extension is for THX Tracker music modules from the Amiga demoscene era. These are chiptune audio files containing pattern data and samples, which can be converted to modern MP3 or FLAC formats using players like XMPlay.
