The .TDK file extension represents three distinct proprietary formats. The most common is a Broadcast graphics title file used by Pinnacle Deko (formerly Avid Deko) for live television overlays. It is also heavily used as an encrypted academic exam submission for FPT University, and historically as a compiled test library by the Borland Test Development Kit. These files are inherently closed and severely restricted. A Pinnacle Deko .TDK file requires specialized legacy broadcast hardware and proprietary software to render. The FPT University variant is actively encrypted to prevent academic cheating, meaning you cannot open it without the official institutional client. The Borland variant is essentially a compiled .EXE file, which can trigger security warnings on modern operating systems. Users often want to convert these files to .PDF or standard image formats like .PNG to review titles or read exam contents.
