About TA5 files
The .TA5 file is a proprietary tax return data file created by TaxAct, specifically for the 2015 tax year. It stores a user's financial data, tax forms, and return information. Users typically open and manage these files using the TaxAct 2015 Desktop software. You often need to convert .TA5 files to access old tax records for mortgages, audits, or personal archiving. However, the format is completely closed and proprietary. It cannot be opened in standard web browsers or text editors. Furthermore, reading it requires the exact 2015 version of the software, which is difficult to run on modern operating systems and unavailable for new downloads.
