The .T12 file extension is exclusively used for At Home 2012 Tax Return files generated by H&R Block tax preparation software. These files act as dedicated data containers, storing a user's financial figures, personal information, and tax form data for the 2012 fiscal year in the United States.
Users frequently encounter major issues with .T12 files because they are highly proprietary and locked to a single, obsolete software version. You cannot open a .T12 file in a standard document viewer or web browser. The biggest disadvantage of this format is its forced obsolescence; acquiring a licensed, working installation of H&R Block 2012 is extremely difficult today. For compliance and personal record-keeping, users typically need to convert these files to PDF to read or print the completed forms, or to CSV and TXT to extract the raw financial data.
