The .STDL file is a proprietary database format used by Swift To-Do List, a desktop task management application for Windows developed by Dextronet. It acts as the primary storage container for user data, holding task lists, tree hierarchies, rich-text notes, reminders, and embedded file attachments.
Users typically need to convert .STDL files when migrating to modern, cloud-based project management tools or when trying to view their tasks on unsupported platforms like macOS or mobile devices. The major disadvantage of the .STDL format is its closed, proprietary design. It locks your data into a specific Windows-only ecosystem and requires a paid license to fully access.
