About ST5 files

The .st5 file extension typically represents a Data Recovery State file generated by Runtime Software GetDataBack. Specifically, it saves the 'Step 5' scan results - the final directory tree of recoverable files - allowing users to pause a lengthy data recovery session and resume it later without rescanning the drive. These files are proprietary logs, not standard documents, and cannot be 'converted' to PDF or DOCX directly; they must be loaded back into the software to export the actual recoverable data.

Alternatively, a .st5 file may be an encrypted environment data asset for Street Fighter V by Capcom. These game archives are locked to the engine and have no practical conversion target for end-users. In rare astronomical contexts, .st5 refers to raw CCD images from older SBIG cameras, which can be converted to TIFF or JPG using specialized imaging tools.
