About SSIF files

The .SSIF (Stereoscopic Interleaved File) is the heavy lifter behind Blu-ray 3D discs. Located in the BDMV/STREAM/SSIF directory, this file interleaves two separate video streams - the standard 2D view (AVC) and the difference data for the other eye (MVC) - into a single massive container. The Problem: You generally cannot just "double-click" to play these. They are usually encrypted with AACS DRM, can exceed 40GB in size, and require specific hardware decoders or paid software like CyberLink PowerDVD to mount. Furthermore, because the file is often a "virtual" cross-link to existing M2TS files on the disc, copying it incorrectly can result in data duplication or corruption. The Solution: For most users, the goal is to liberate the video for playback on a VR headset or 3D TV. We recommend converting .SSIF to MKV (Side-by-Side or Over-Under) using tools like MakeMKV or BD3D2MK3D. If you only need the 2D version, you can convert the primary stream to a standard MP4.

Convert.Guru analyzes your SSIF file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted SRF, BTN and CM0013 files.
