About SAPK files
The .SAPK file is a proprietary SICK AppPool Application package used strictly within the industrial automation sector. It stores custom scripts, operational logic, and configuration data designed to be deployed onto programmable edge sensors running within the SICK AppSpace ecosystem. Engineers typically build and manage these files using SICK AppStudio. The main disadvantage of the .SAPK format is its highly restricted, closed nature. Standard operating systems, desktop applications, and web browsers cannot natively open or inspect these files. Access requires specialized, commercial industrial software. Users frequently need to 'convert' or break apart these files to extract the source code, troubleshoot deployment errors, or backup the internal scripts in a version-controlled environment. Because this is an executable package rather than a document, traditional document conversions will fail. However, .SAPK files often function as compressed container archives. The best target formats for conversion or extraction are .ZIP archives, which reveal the underlying .LUA scripts and .XML configuration files.
Convert.Guru analyzes your SAPK file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The SAPK Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our SAPK converter.
