A .SALL file is a proprietary configuration file used to store backup jobs, folder synchronization paths, and schedules. It is created by SimplySync Backup, a Windows-based utility developed by Carifred. These files allow users to save their complex backup rules and migrate them between different computers or restore them after a system crash.
The main disadvantage of the .SALL format is that it is locked to the Carifred ecosystem. You cannot natively import a .SALL file into alternative backup solutions like Macrium Reflect or Veeam. Furthermore, the file structure is not intended for human readability, which makes verifying backup paths without the original software frustrating.
Converting a .SALL file to standard document formats like PDF or DOCX is generally not possible because it contains software instructions, not printable data. However, users often attempt to convert or extract the data into TXT or XML to audit their backup paths manually.
Because this is a closed, proprietary format, standard online converters fail to process it. Only the original software can properly read or export the exact backup rules.
