About RXDOC files

The .rxdoc format is a proprietary project file created by iZotope RX, an industry-standard audio repair and spectral editing suite. It stores the original audio data alongside a complete, non-destructive undo history of edits, spectral repairs, and plugin settings.

Because .rxdoc is a closed, proprietary format, it has significant disadvantages for file sharing. You cannot play an .rxdoc file in standard media players like VLC or web browsers. It is not supported by standard Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) like Pro Tools or Logic Pro. Opening the file requires an expensive iZotope software license. Furthermore, these project files frequently exceed several gigabytes in size because they store uncompressed audio and extensive undo histories.

To share the repaired audio, you must export the project to standard formats like WAV or FLAC for lossless quality, or MP3 for a smaller file size. Note that exporting to a standard audio format will permanently bake in your audio edits and discard the undo history.

Because this is a complex proprietary project file rather than a standard audio stream, typical online converters fail to process it. Only the original software can properly read or export the full session data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your RXDOC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
