About RUEL files

A .RUEL file is a proprietary installation log created by Revo Uninstaller Pro. It acts as a specialized system snapshot that tracks file system and Windows Registry changes made during a software installation. Users typically interact with these files when performing a "Traced Uninstall" or when importing a custom uninstallation log from another computer. The primary limitation of the .RUEL format is its proprietary, closed nature. You cannot open it natively in standard text editors like Notepad or view it in web browsers. If you try to open it without the original software, you will usually see unreadable data. This makes sharing installation logs with external IT support or colleagues difficult. Because the internal structure is specific to Revo's proprietary rollback mechanisms, standard online document converters consistently fail to process these files. They do not contain standard document data. The best way to extract information from a .RUEL file is to export it to TXT or HTML from within Revo Uninstaller Pro itself. If you do not have a paid license for the software, you are often stuck. This is a highly restrictive format designed specifically for vendor lock-in.
