Convert ROCA to another file type
To convert ROCA archives to another format, you need RIB office or other Compressed software.
Convert a file to ROCA
To convert other file formats to the "Software Archive" file type, you need software like RIB office or a similar tool.
About ROCA files
The .roca file format is a proprietary archive used primarily by RIB Software applications, such as RIB office. These files bundle multiple construction estimating, planning, and design documents into a single compressed package for easier sharing and storage.
The main disadvantage of the .roca format is its closed nature. It locks project data within the RIB Software ecosystem. Users without an active, expensive license cannot access the bid data, blueprints, or estimating spreadsheets contained inside. Standard archive tools like 7-Zip or WinRAR often fail to extract the contents due to proprietary headers or customized compression algorithms.
To collaborate with external contractors, users need to extract .roca files into standard formats like ZIP, PDF, or XLSX. Converting ensures accessibility across standard operating systems and free tools without tying collaborators to a single software vendor.
Because this is a closed, proprietary format, standard online converters usually fail to process it. Often only the original software can properly read or export the data. Our system will inspect the binary structure. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your ROCA file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The ROCA Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our ROCA converter.
