About ROADTRIP files
The .roadtrip file is a proprietary data format created by Road Trip Planner, a routing and itinerary application developed by Modesitt Software for macOS and iOS. It stores map pins, routes, waypoints, and travel schedules. To open these files natively, users must have Road Trip Planner installed on an Apple device. The primary disadvantage of the .roadtrip format is its highly restrictive, closed ecosystem. It cannot be opened natively on Windows or Android. Sharing this file with someone who does not own the paid app is useless. Furthermore, standard web-based mapping tools like Google Maps or Apple Maps do not import .roadtrip files directly. To share your itinerary across platforms or use standard navigation apps, the data must be exported to universal formats like GPX (for GPS devices) or KML (for Google Earth). Alternatively, a CSV export is best for viewing the schedule in a spreadsheet, while a PDF is ideal for printing. Because this is a proprietary, closed-source file format, standard online converters usually fail to process it. Only the original software can properly read or export the complex map data. We will identify the file format, inspect the internal contents, and show visible text. If our analysis detects a supported embedded format, viewing or partial conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your ROADTRIP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The ROADTRIP Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our ROADTRIP converter.
