About RHP files

The .RHP file type is a compiled plugin used by Rhinoceros 3D to add specialized features, rendering engines, or modeling tools to the core software. Technically, an .RHP file is simply a standard Windows Dynamic Link Library (.DLL) renamed to identify it as a Rhino add-on.

Users often have trouble because .RHP files are not 3D models themselves - you cannot double-click to "view" them, nor can you convert them into geometry formats like STL, OBJ, or IGES. They are strictly executable code modules. Attempting to open them in a text editor yields illegible binary data, and they are version-sensitive; an .RHP built for Rhino 6 may crash Rhino 8.

Usage & Workarounds:

Convert.Guru analyzes your RHP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted PHP, RVB, RHL and 3DMBAK files.

The RHP Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our RHP converter.
