About REPEAKS files
A .REPEAKS file is a cache file generated by REAPER, a popular digital audio workstation (DAW) developed by Cockos Incorporated. Its primary function is to store visual waveform data for audio tracks within a project. Instead of recalculating the visual peaks of an audio file every time you open a session, REAPER loads this lightweight data to display the waveform instantly.
The biggest disadvantage of the .REPEAKS format is that it does not contain any actual audio data. It is strictly a proprietary visual cache. You cannot open it in standard media players, nor can you extract sound from it. Many users find these files annoying because REAPER generates them automatically next to the source audio files by default, leading to heavily cluttered sample libraries and folders.
Because it holds no audio, standard online converters fail to process it into an MP3 or WAV. If you are trying to "convert" this file to play music, you are looking at the wrong file. You must locate the original source audio (usually a WAV, MP3, or AIFF) that the peak file references.
Convert.Guru analyzes your REPEAKS file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
