About RADQ files
The .RADQ file functions as a proprietary game asset archive for Need for Madness, a classic 3D car combat game developed by RadicalPlay.com. These files bundle essential game resources such as 3D models, stage data, and audio clips into a single container.
Opening these files natively requires the original Need for Madness game engine. Third-party modding tools specifically designed by the game community may also be able to unpack or modify the contents.
The main disadvantage of the .RADQ format is its closed, proprietary nature. Files are strictly tied to the game engine and are completely unsupported by standard archive managers like WinRAR or 7-Zip. You cannot natively preview the assets inside, making modification or extraction frustrating without specialized software.
Because it is a container, conversion targets depend on the internal contents. Ideally, you want to extract the assets to standard formats like ZIP for the container, PNG for textures, or WAV for audio. However, standard online converters routinely fail to process .RADQ files due to custom, proprietary headers.
This file format is difficult to open or convert because it is a closed format. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your RADQ file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert RADQ file to EXE, ISO, BIN, CUE, PAK, WAD, PK3, PK4, BSP, MAP, SAV or DAT, you can use Need for Madness or similar software from the "Game Asset Archive" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….

The RADQ Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our RADQ converter.
