A .QUID file is a proprietary rich text document created by the now-discontinued QuidProQuo word processor, originally developed by Scratchware (now known as The 3000 Company). The software was used primarily by Windows users seeking a lightweight alternative to heavier office suites before it was rebranded as QuidWriter and eventually sunset in early 2025.
Users frequently need to convert these files because the original Scratchware software is permanently discontinued, making the format incredibly niche and difficult to manage. Attempting to open a .QUID file in modern applications like Microsoft Word or Google Docs will trigger an unrecognized file error, severely hindering document sharing and long-term storage.
