Convert a file to QP
To convert other file formats to the "Rhythm Game Mapset" file type, you need software like Quaver or a similar tool.
About QP files
A .QP file is a Quaver Mapset used exclusively by the open-source rhythm game Quaver. It functions as a digital container that bundles all the assets needed to play a specific custom level. Inside, it stores the background music (usually MP3 or OGG), artwork (like JPG or PNG), and the actual beatmap configuration files (QUA) that tell the game when notes should appear.
The biggest disadvantage of the .QP format is its proprietary wrapping. Because it uses a specialized extension, you cannot natively listen to the enclosed music in standard audio players or view the art in your image gallery. It is completely tied to the game ecosystem, making it frustrating if you just want to save a catchy track or a cool background image.
However, structurally, a .QP file is just a standard ZIP archive in disguise. The most common conversion need is extracting these internal assets for personal use, or converting the entire mapset to an OSZ file to play in osu! using community tools like qua3osu. Our platform will identify its internal archive structure, allowing you to peek inside and extract the hidden media files instantly.
Convert.Guru analyzes your QP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert QP file to MP3, WAV, AAC, FLAC, OGG, WMA, M4A, AIFF, OPUS, ALAC, APE or WV, you can use Quaver or similar software from the "Game Level Asset Archive" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert MIDI, AAC, TTA, AU, WV, DTS, MID, FLAC, RA, MP3, PCM or WAV files to QP, try Quaver or another comparable tool in the "Game Level Asset Archive" category.
The QP Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our QP converter.
