About Q5Q files

A .q5q file is a proprietary preset file used by SuperBladePro, a popular 3D surface and texture generating plugin created by Flaming Pear Software for Adobe Photoshop and Corel PaintShop Pro. These files store specific numerical parameters, slider values, and environmental settings to recreate complex bevels, metallic reflections, and glass effects. The main disadvantage of the .q5q format is that it is strictly a settings file, not an actual image. It requires a paid host application and a specific, proprietary plugin to be of any use. Furthermore, the format is closed and cannot be viewed in standard web browsers or regular image editors.

Because it contains only mathematical parameters and not pixel data, you cannot directly convert a .q5q file into a standard JPG or PNG image using typical online converters. To generate an image, you must apply the preset to a shape within Photoshop and export the result. This file format is exceptionally difficult to open or convert because only the original SuperBladePro rendering engine understands how to interpret the parameters.

Standard online converters will fail to process it. Our analysis can inspect the file, extract readable text, and detect embedded metadata, helping you understand the preset's contents even without the original plugin installed.

Convert.Guru analyzes your Q5Q file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
