About PYV files

A .pyv file is a proprietary, encrypted video stream file used by the Movistar+ (formerly Yomvi) streaming service for offline media playback. The format is heavily restricted and heavily disadvantaged for general use. It requires an active subscription and the official app to decode. Files often exceed gigabytes in size but remain completely unreadable outside the official ecosystem. Standard media players like VLC or web browsers cannot open them. Converting .pyv to standard formats like MP4 or MKV is extremely difficult. The data is encrypted using Digital Rights Management (DRM). Standard online converters fail because they lack the required decryption keys. Because this is a closed, proprietary format, often only the original software can properly read or export the data. However, just drag and drop your file into convert.guru to identify the format, view its metadata, and convert it when possible. Our system will inspect the file and show its internal structure. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format disguised as a .pyv file, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your PYV file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted WMZ, WMV and VOB files.
