About POWER files
The .power file extension functions as a Goo Picture Library File [1], originally developed by DigiSoft Innovations for the Golden Orchard software package [3]. It acts as a legacy container or database designed to store large collections of digital graphics and assets. Historically, these files were opened natively using Golden Orchard [3], a platform popular during the era of early CD-ROM graphic archives.
The primary disadvantage of the .power format is that it is entirely obsolete and strictly proprietary [1]. Modern operating systems like Windows 10 or macOS do not support it natively [3]. This means you cannot view the images without running 90s-era software, which often requires complex emulators. The file traps your graphics inside a closed database, making them inaccessible for modern creative workflows.
To make these images usable today, users must extract or convert the internal contents into standard JPG, PNG, or ZIP archives. However, standard online image converters usually fail because they expect single-image formats and cannot parse the proprietary library structure of a .power file.
Because this is a closed format, only the original software can properly export the data with 100% accuracy [1]. If our system detects extractable standard image layers embedded inside the library, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your POWER file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert POWER file to DB, DBM, HP, CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG or CONF, you can use Golden Orchard or similar software from the "Image Library Database" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to POWER, try Golden Orchard or another comparable tool in the "Image Library Database" category.
The POWER Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our POWER converter.
