The .PK2 file is a proprietary game resource archive package primarily developed by Joymax for the MMORPG Silkroad Online. A secondary, less common use is for Quake II Evolved game data. These files act as massive digital storage bins, packaging thousands of individual game assets - such as DDS textures, OGG audio tracks, 3D models, and configuration scripts - into a single container.
Users usually want to open or convert .PK2 files to extract media for personal use or to modify game client variables (modding).
