A .pa2 file is primarily used as either a SPAN risk parameter file in the finance industry or a Structural anchor design project in construction engineering. The financial variant is utilized by CME Group's PC-SPAN software to calculate margin requirements for futures and options portfolios. The engineering variant is generated by Hilti PROFIS Anchor software and utilizes an underlying XML data structure.
