About ODI files

An .ODI file is an OpenDocument Image archive, an open-standard format developed by the OASIS consortium. It is used for storing, exporting, and importing graphics alongside XML-based definitions that describe the layout.

The format is natively supported by open-source office suites like Apache OpenOffice and LibreOffice.

Despite being an open standard, the .ODI format is not supported by modern web browsers, standard image viewers, or mobile devices. Attempting to view an .ODI file usually requires downloading a bulky desktop office suite just to look at a single graphic.

For universal compatibility, it is best to convert these files to standard image formats. Convert to PNG or JPG for web and print use, or SVG to retain scalable vector paths. Exporting to a PDF document is also highly recommended if the file contains complex multi-layered XML layouts.

Because the .ODI format relies on an internal OpenDocument rendering engine to position and display its XML elements, standard online converters often fail to process the layout correctly or lose formatting entirely. If our analysis detects supported underlying formats inside the archive, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your ODI file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted ODG, OTF, OTH and ODS# files.
