Extract text from OCD files

A .OCD file is primarily a vector-based map project created by OCAD, the industry-standard software for cartography and orienteering. These files contain complex layers, topological data, and symbology compliant with International Orienteering Federation (IOF) standards.
While .OCD is the gold standard for map creation, it poses significant accessibility challenges. The format is strictly proprietary, meaning users cannot open it without purchasing expensive OCAD licenses or installing the read-only OCAD Viewer. It is incompatible with standard graphic design tools like Adobe Illustrator or general GIS software like QGIS without prior conversion. This proprietary lock-in complicates sharing maps with event organizers, printers, or field teams using mobile devices.
To overcome these limitations, users should convert .OCD files based on their specific needs. For high-quality printing and general viewing, convert to PDF. For further editing in CAD or GIS applications, convert to DXF or SHP (Shapefile). For use in GPS devices and mobile navigation apps, the GPX or KMZ formats are the ideal targets.
*Note: Less frequently, .OCD files may be diagnostic packages from Oracle Cerner CareAware, or game data files from titles like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. or Onimusha. These are generally not meant for conversion.*
