About NSQ files
An .NSQ file is an NScheduler Data File originally developed by Syntes and later integrated into the enterprise software ecosystem of Qlik NPrinting. These files are used to store complex scheduling configurations, background tasks, recipient lists, and job parameters required to automatically generate and distribute business intelligence reports from QlikView.
Users often encounter .NSQ files when inheriting legacy BI servers, migrating systems, or backing up reporting configurations. The primary disadvantage of this format is that it is strictly proprietary and tightly locked to the Qlik ecosystem. An .NSQ file does not contain actual documents or readable media; instead, it contains the backend instructions needed to run them. Because it requires an expensive enterprise license to open properly, it is completely unsupported by standard text editors, web browsers, or typical office software.
Because an .NSQ file is a scheduling database, converting it directly into a standard document format like a PDF or an image format is impossible. The correct workflow is to load the schedule in its native software and execute the jobs, which then generate the final reports as XLSX, PDF, or CSV files.
Standard online converters fail with these files because they attempt to process them as media, completely missing the proprietary structural formatting of the scheduling data. While full conversion isn't applicable, our deep-file analysis can extract raw text strings, embedded XML, or configuration parameters, allowing you to recover valuable job definitions or recipient emails without needing the original software.
Convert.Guru analyzes your NSQ file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The NSQ Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our NSQ converter.
