About NLELEM files
A .nlelem file is a proprietary NoLimits Track Element used by the NoLimits roller coaster simulation software to store reusable track segments. Created by Mad Data, this format saves the coordinates, geometry, and physics data for specific coaster elements, such as loops, corkscrews, or banked turns.
This format is highly specialized and closed. Standard 3D modeling tools like Blender or Autodesk Maya cannot open it natively. The data is locked into the specific physics and rendering engine of the game, making it useless outside of the NoLimits ecosystem. Users often want to convert it to standard 3D formats (like OBJ or FBX) to render realistic park previews or edit meshes in external software, but face immediate roadblocks.
Because this is a closed, proprietary format, standard online converters fail to process it. Often, only the original NoLimits Editor software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your NLELEM file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The NLELEM Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our NLELEM converter.
