Convert a file to NJX

To convert other file formats to the "Proprietary Word Document" file type, you need software like NJStar Communicator or a similar tool.

About NJX files

The .NJX file is a proprietary word processing document created by NJStar Software. It is primarily used to write, edit, and format Chinese, Japanese, and Korean (CJK) text on Western operating systems. Users typically rely on NJStar Word Processor or NJStar Communicator to handle these specialized files.

The main disadvantage of the .NJX format is its extreme lack of compatibility. Because it is a closed, proprietary file type, standard modern word processors like Microsoft Word or Google Docs cannot open it natively. Users often find themselves locked out of their own documents if their NJStar license expires or if they switch computers. Furthermore, sharing an .NJX file with a colleague or client guarantees they will not be able to read it without downloading and installing the specialized software.

To resolve these frustrating limits, you should convert .NJX files to universally readable formats. Converting to PDF ensures the exact layout and complex Asian fonts remain intact. Converting to DOCX or TXT is better for raw text editing, though you might lose specific NJStar font formatting or encounter temporary text encoding issues.

This file format is exceptionally difficult to open or convert online because standard converters do not understand the underlying proprietary CJK text encoding. Often, only the original NJStar software can properly read or export the data. However, convert.guru serves as a highly practical workaround. Just drag and drop your file to identify the format, view it, and convert it when possible. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded text format, viewing or conversion may still be possible without the original software.

Convert.Guru analyzes your NJX file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted DOCX, SXW and PRIZM files.
