About NJI files

A .NJI file is a proprietary Nero Job Information file used to store the parameters of an automated backup or disc burning task. It contains instructions such as source directories, target destinations, scheduling rules, and compression levels. These files are primarily generated and opened by Nero BackItUp or the broader Nero Burning ROM software suite. Users frequently attempt to convert this file because they mistakenly believe it contains their actual archived photos, documents, or videos. The primary disadvantage of the .NJI format is that it requires a paid Nero software installation to execute, and it is entirely useless for restoring data if the associated archive files are missing. Because it does not contain media, you cannot convert a .NJI file into a JPG or MP4.
