Convert NGB to another file type

To convert NGB data files to another format, you need NanoSight NTA or other Data software.

Convert a file to NGB

To convert other file formats to the "Instrument Analysis Data" file type, you need software like NanoSight NTA or a similar tool.

About NGB files

The .NGB file is a proprietary data container used by Malvern Panalytical laboratory instruments, specifically the NanoSight and Zetasizer series. It stores raw scientific data from Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA) and particle sizing experiments.

These files are primarily created, opened, and managed using specialized, proprietary NanoSight NTA software or Zetasizer software. Under the hood, the file uses the Microsoft Compound File Binary Format (CFBF) to structure its internal data streams.

Users often need to convert .NGB files because the format is strictly closed. It cannot be opened by web browsers, standard data analysis tools like Python or R, or spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel. This creates a major bottleneck in laboratories, as accessing the raw data requires an active license for expensive instrument software.

To analyze the data freely, the best conversion targets are CSV, XLSX, or TXT for raw numerical datasets, or PDF for static visual reports.

Standard online converters fail to process .NGB files because the data serialization is undocumented. Often, only the original Malvern Panalytical software can properly interpret and export the scientific data. However, just drag and drop your .NGB file into convert.guru to identify the format, view it, and convert it when possible. Because it uses a Microsoft Compound structure, our system can inspect the file, reveal text strings, and extract internal content. If our analysis detects a supported embedded dataset, viewing or partial conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your NGB file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted NGB-TAA, NGB350, TRI, ZMES, MXW and TTP files.

FAQ

If you want to convert NGB file to EXE, ISO, BIN, CUE, PAK, WAD, PK3, PK4, BSP, MAP, SAV or DAT, you can use NanoSight NTA or similar software from the "Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis Data" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….

To convert MOD, BIN, CFG, SCX, DAT, MPQ, LOG, CUE, INI, EXE, SCM or ISO files to NGB, try NanoSight NTA or another comparable tool in the "Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis Data" category.

The NGB Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our NGB converter.
