The .NDOC file extension represents a Naver Word Document, a proprietary file type created by Naver Office, specifically its web-based word processor. It was primarily used by Korean users to store text, formatting, tables, and images in the cloud via Naver MYBOX (formerly NDrive).
The biggest disadvantage of the .NDOC format is that Naver officially discontinued the Naver Office service on November 30, 2023. Millions of users were left with proprietary cloud documents that standard desktop software like Microsoft Word, LibreOffice, or Google Docs cannot read natively. If you try to open an .NDOC file in Word directly, you will only see raw XML code or gibberish. Because the format was closed and exclusive to their ecosystem, offline tools fail to recognize it.
To rescue your content, it is highly recommended to convert .NDOC files to standard formats like DOCX, PDF, or TXT. While basic text and layouts usually survive the conversion, complex Naver-specific templates, specialized fonts, or embedded charts might lose formatting.
