About MYCOLORS files
The .mycolors file is a proprietary theme package developed by Stardock. It was utilized by the legacy Stardock MyColors software to apply custom visual styles, desktop icons, and wallpapers to the Windows operating system environment.
The primary disadvantage of the .mycolors format is its strict vendor lock-in and complete obsolescence. The original software is officially discontinued, rendering these files virtually unusable on modern operating systems. Furthermore, because it is a proprietary archive containing compressed graphical assets and encrypted UI configuration data, you cannot freely edit or apply the contents without the original client.
Standard online converters fail to process .mycolors files because they lack the specific extraction algorithms needed to unpack this closed container. You cannot simply convert a complex, multi-layered OS theme into a single standard document or image. Instead, users typically want to salvage the underlying visual assets, requiring a conversion to ZIP or direct extraction of embedded PNG and JPG files. While direct conversion of an entire proprietary theme is impossible, our engine can inspect the file and reveal its internal structure. If our analysis detects supported underlying archive formats within the package, extracting the original wallpapers and icons may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your MYCOLORS file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
