Opening these files requires specific community modding tools rather than standard consumer software. Standard image editors like Adobe Photoshop cannot natively read the pixel data. The major disadvantage of the .MTXT format is its closed, proprietary nature. Files are strictly coupled with their respective game engines and completely unsupported by web browsers or standard operating systems.
