About MRA files
The .MRA extension creates significant confusion because it serves two diametrically opposed purposes in professional workflows. Primarily, it is a Mari Project Archive, generated by Mari, the high-end 3D texture painting software used in VFX pipelines. These files are actually renamed ZIP archives containing project metadata, cached textures, and shader information. The main issue here is the proprietary nature of the directory structure; while you can technically unzip the file to see the contents, the raw data is often fragmented or encoded in a way that requires Mari to reassemble properly. Users without a subscription (which can cost hundreds of dollars) cannot easily view the 3D assets inside.
Alternatively, an .MRA file is an OMA DRM Rights Object formatted in XML. These are legacy files defined by the Open Mobile Alliance to manage digital rights on mobile devices. The frustration for users is that they often believe this file contains the actual music or video. It does not. It acts as a digital key, containing only text rules (e.g., "play 5 times"). For OMA files, converting to TXT or XML allows you to read the usage rules, but it will not recover media.
Convert.Guru analyzes your MRA file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The MRA Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our MRA converter.
