About MOSAIC files

The .mosaic file is a proprietary project file used by the MacOSaiX software to create photo mosaics on Apple computers. It stores the grid layout, tile shapes, and file paths pointing to the thousands of tiny images used to build the main collage. Because it is a project data file and not a standard raster image, it cannot be opened by default image viewers, web browsers, or mobile devices. The primary disadvantage of this format is its severe lack of portability. Sharing a .mosaic file is highly problematic because the recipient needs both the exact version of the MacOSaiX application and access to all the original source images in their exact folder locations to render the mosaic. This makes the format highly restrictive and fragile. To safely share your artwork, you must export the completed project to standard image formats like JPG or PNG. Unfortunately, direct conversion of a .mosaic file outside of its native environment is virtually impossible because the file itself does not contain rendered pixels. It is a closed, proprietary format, which clearly explains why standard online converters fail to process it. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your MOSAIC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
