About MFP files
The .MFP file extension is primarily associated with MediaFACE Project files, developed by Neato. These files store layouts, embedded graphics, and formatted text used to print custom labels for CDs, DVDs, and physical media inserts. Alternatively, .MFP files can be Macromedia FlashPaper Documents, a discontinued format originally built by Macromedia (later acquired by Adobe) designed to convert printable documents into Flash (.SWF) or PDF formats for web sharing. In modern engineering contexts, .MFP also denotes a Markforged Print file used for industrial 3D printing.
Both of the traditional uses for .MFP files suffer from severe software obsolescence. MediaFACE is legacy software that rarely runs smoothly on modern operating systems, while FlashPaper relies on the deprecated Adobe Flash architecture, making its web documents completely blocked by modern browsers. These are proprietary, closed formats that lock your data inside specific, hard-to-find applications.
Users typically need to convert .MFP files to standard, universal formats like PDF, JPG, or PNG to recover old label designs or read legacy documents. However, converting these files is incredibly difficult. Standard online converters fail because the format is undocumented and the layout algorithms are proprietary. Often, only the original software can properly render the layout or export the data.
This is where our tools can help. While a perfect 1-to-1 layout conversion might be impossible without the native app, we can inspect the binary file to extract raw text or embedded raster images. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or rescuing your lost assets may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your MFP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert MFP file to INDD, QXP, PUB, PMD, PM6, PM7, PM8, PM9, PM10, PM11, OMP or P65, you can use MediaFACE or similar software from the "Project File Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert MDI, PUB, PDP, PM4, P65, COMIC, WEBTEMPLATE, PMD, SPUB, INDD, PM5 or QXP files to MFP, try MediaFACE or another comparable tool in the "Project File Storage" category.
The MFP Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our MFP converter.
