About MCT files

An .MCT file is predominantly an NFC tag data dump generated by the MIFARE Classic Tool (MCT) Android application. It stores raw hexadecimal sector and block data read from MIFARE Classic RFID cards. Alternatively, it functions as a legacy Windows Live Messenger content package (a disguised Microsoft Cabinet or Compressed Folder) holding custom emoticons, or a proprietary game texture for Capcom games like Resident Evil 4. Users often need to convert .MCT files because MIFARE dumps are unformatted binary/hex files that are entirely unreadable to the average user without specialized hex editors or the original MCT app. Furthermore, Messenger packages are locked inside obsolete software that Microsoft retired years ago, trapping custom digital assets. Capcom game textures are proprietary and cannot be opened by standard raster image viewers. To analyze RFID card data effectively, convert your .MCT file to .TXT, .HEX, or .CSV formats. For recovering legacy Messenger emoticons, convert or extract the file to .ZIP to access the internal .PNG or .GIF images. For game modding, convert Capcom texture files to standard .DDS or .PNG.

Convert.Guru analyzes your MCT file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
