About MAPLET files

A .MAPLET file is an interactive graphical application script used by Maplesoft Maple, a commercial mathematical computing environment. These files contain code that generates user interfaces - complete with buttons, text boxes, and graphs - allowing users to perform complex calculations without writing math code directly. A minor secondary use (under 1%) is the Maplet World File associated with older Blitz Research game engines.

The primary disadvantage of the .MAPLET format is its strict vendor lock-in. It is a highly proprietary script that relies entirely on the Maple kernel to execute. You cannot run or fully view a .MAPLET file in standard web browsers, and it requires an expensive software license to execute properly. Sharing these files with colleagues or students who lack a Maple installation is frustrating, as the file will not run independently.

To make the content accessible, users often need to convert the .MAPLET script into a standard Maple Worksheet (MW or MWS) or extract the underlying code as plain text (TXT). However, because the user interface definitions are tied to Maple's proprietary rendering engine, standard online converters fail to process them. Converting to static formats like PDF usually results in a total loss of the interactive graphical elements.

This is a closed, proprietary format, which makes it difficult to open or convert without the original software. Our platform can inspect the internal content, show readable text, and if a supported embedded structure is found, help you salvage the data.

Convert.Guru analyzes your MAPLET file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted MW, B3D, WMDF and SMDF files.

FAQ

If you want to convert MAPLET file to EXE, ISO, BIN, CUE, PAK, WAD, PK3, PK4, BSP, MAP, SAV or DAT, you can use Maplesoft Maple or similar software from the "Interactive Mathematical Application Script" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….

To convert MOD, BIN, CFG, SCX, DAT, MPQ, LOG, CUE, INI, EXE, SCM or ISO files to MAPLET, try Maplesoft Maple or another comparable tool in the "Interactive Mathematical Application Script" category.

The MAPLET Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our MAPLET converter.
