About LPT files
The .LPT file extension is highly fragmented and used by several completely unrelated applications. The most common uses include logic analyzer trace files generated by LeCroy LogicStudio, label design templates created in Brady LabelMark or Brady Workstation, and Microsoft Jet Database files linked to Microsoft Access. Other variations include SAP Crystal Reports data, Lufkin Automation well dynamometer cards, and LitPath lighting simulations. Because the .LPT extension is shared among so many different systems, simply double-clicking the file usually results in an error. These formats are heavily proprietary, closed-source, and often require expensive, niche software or legacy programs to open. For example, you cannot easily view a LeCroy trace file or a Brady label design in a standard web browser. Standard online converters fail to process .LPT files because they cannot guess which of the formats the file actually uses. Depending on the specific type of .LPT file, you might want to convert a label template to PDF for sharing, or extract data from a Jet Database to CSV or XLSX. This file format is difficult to open or convert without the original application. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format like Microsoft Compound or JetDB, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your LPT file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The LPT Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our LPT converter.
