About LMK files
The .lmk file extension typically represents a proprietary project file created by Sothink Logo Maker (developed by SourceTec Software). Users often mistake these for standard image files, but they are actually "save states" containing editable vector paths, layers, text, and effects. Because .lmk files are proprietary, you cannot open them in standard viewers, upload them to websites, or edit them in tools like Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop. To use the logo, you must export it from the original software to a standard format.
A significant portion of .lmk files may also be Macro Library files used by ABACOM software such as Sprint-Layout or sPlan for PCB design. These contain reusable electronic component footprints.
Best Conversion Targets:
- For Web/Social Media: Convert the logo project to PNG (supports transparency) or JPG.
- For Professional Printing: Convert to SVG or PDF to maintain vector scalability without pixelation.
- For PCB Layouts: These generally must remain in the ABACOM ecosystem, though export to Gerber or DXF is possible via the native tool.
Convert.Guru analyzes your LMK file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted DOWNLOAD, LNK, PNG, XD, PB1 and NTP files.
The LMK Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our LMK converter.
