About LMK files
The .LMK file extension is primarily used for two entirely different applications: as a Logo Maker project file created by Sothink Logo Maker and as a macro library for PCB layouts in ABACOM Sprint-Layout or sPlan. These files are proprietary project containers, not standard media files. A logo .LMK file does not hold a flat image; it contains vector paths, text nodes, and layer data. This means you cannot open it in a standard web browser, image viewer, or vector software like Adobe Illustrator. Users face significant disadvantages because the format is closed-source, locking you into specific commercial software to edit or export your work. To make the designs usable, you must convert the .LMK logo files to standard raster formats like PNG or JPG, or vector formats like SVG and PDF. For PCB libraries, exporting to Gerber or DXF is standard, though complex library metadata is usually lost. Because this file format is proprietary and difficult to open or convert, standard online converters frequently fail to process it. Only the original software can natively read the complete data structure.
