A .LITAR file is not a standard document or media format; it is a personal file that has been maliciously encrypted by the Litar virus, a variant of the notorious STOP/Djvu ransomware family. Cybercriminals use this malware to lock your files, appending the .litar extension to your original data (for example, invoice.pdf becomes invoice.pdf.litar). Victims often desperately search for ways to open or convert these files, but traditional file converters completely fail here. The data inside a .LITAR file has been mathematically scrambled using military-grade AES-256 encryption.
