About LI3D files

The .LI3D file format is a proprietary document created by Live Interior 3D, a home and interior design application developed by BeLight Software. These files store 3D room layouts, floor plans, textures, lighting settings, and 3D objects used to visualize home renovations. Because .LI3D is a closed, proprietary format, it comes with significant disadvantages. You cannot open these files in industry-standard 3D modeling software like Blender or AutoCAD directly. The format locks your design data into a specific software ecosystem, requiring you or your clients to purchase and install the exact BeLight application to view the project. Sharing these files with contractors or architects is often impossible without prior export. To make the 3D data usable elsewhere, you must convert the project to standard formats like OBJ, DAE (Collada), or FBX. However, doing so may result in the loss of proprietary lighting setups, camera angles, or specific parametric room behaviors. Standard online converters fail to process .LI3D files because the format structure is undocumented. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the 3D data.
