About KLQ files
.KLQ files are encrypted quarantine containers created by Kaspersky security software. They securely isolate malware or suspicious data detected during a system scan.
Users often encounter .KLQ files when trying to recover a falsely flagged document or program. However, this format is highly restrictive. The major disadvantage of the .KLQ format is that it is proprietary and intentionally encrypted to prevent malicious payloads from executing. You cannot simply rename the extension or open it in standard applications.
Because of this strict security encryption, there are no standard conversion targets for .KLQ files. To recover the original data, you must use the Kaspersky interface to restore the file to its native format (such as EXE or DOCX). Attempting manual extraction is dangerous and can compromise your system.
This is a closed, proprietary format designed exclusively for threat containment. Standard online converters fail to process it because the internal data is deliberately obfuscated. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your KLQ file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
