About KBITS files
The .kbits file format is a proprietary Bits'N'Picas Bitmap Font File developed by Kreative Korp. It is designed specifically for the Bits'N'Picas font creation software. Unlike modern scalable vector fonts, these files store typography as rigid pixel grids designed for legacy or retro computing environments.
The primary disadvantage of the .kbits format is its lack of universal compatibility. Because it relies on rasterized grids, the font cannot be seamlessly scaled up without severe pixelation. Furthermore, you cannot install a .kbits file natively on Windows, macOS, or Linux via their standard font books. It is also entirely unsupported by mainstream graphic design software like Adobe Illustrator or modern web browsers.
To use these fonts practically, users must convert .kbits files to standard vector-based formats such as TTF (TrueType Font) or OTF (OpenType Font). Alternatively, for graphical use, the individual glyphs can be exported as PNG image sequences.
Because .kbits is a highly specialized, closed format, standard online converters often fail to process it. Often, only the original Bits'N'Picas application can properly read or export the raw bitmap data.
Convert.Guru analyzes your KBITS file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The KBITS Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our KBITS converter.
