About JSE files

A .JSE file is a JScript Encoded Script file created by Microsoft to execute via the Windows Script Host. System administrators originally used this format to obfuscate their JavaScript (JScript) source code, protecting intellectual property from casual snooping. Other systems, such as NVIDIA hardware diagnostic tools on the Tegra platform, also utilize this format for encoded testing scripts. The primary disadvantage of the .JSE format is its severe security risk. Because the internal code is hidden, it is a highly popular vector for malware and ransomware. Major email providers like Gmail and Outlook aggressively block .JSE attachments, and modern security software often flags them on sight. Furthermore, you cannot simply open a .JSE file in a standard text editor to see what it does; it will just look like gibberish. To safely inspect or edit the code, you must decode it. For editing and security analysis, convert .JSE to JS (standard JavaScript) or TXT (Plain Text) to reveal the original source code. For sharing without triggering antivirus alerts, convert it to TXT. Drop your file here to view and convert it securely right in your browser - free, online, and without installing software that might accidentally execute malicious code.

Convert.Guru analyzes your JSE file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
