To convert other file formats to the "Legacy Animation Project" file type, you need software like Animation-ish or a similar tool.
The .ISH2 file is a proprietary animation project created by the legacy desktop version of Animation-ish. It stores drawing and timing data for the "FlipBook-ish" mode, which is the intermediate complexity level of the educational software.
You typically need to convert these files to preserve your work and share it. When FableVision migrated Animation-ish to a web-based platform in November 2019, they completely dropped support for these legacy desktop files. This means you cannot upload or open an .ISH2 file in the modern cloud version. You are entirely locked out of your own animations unless you still have the old desktop software installed.
To save your animations, the best conversion targets are standard, universally supported formats like GIF, MP4, MOV, or a sequence of PNG images. Exporting to these formats ensures your work can be played on any modern browser or mobile device.
