The .IPZ file format primarily functions as a weighing terminal data archive used by Mettler Toledo IND industrial terminals or as compressed project files for Intrepid Control Systems. Alternatively, it is heavily utilized as an INCA Project File generated by IPETRONIK IPEmotion software to store complex measurement data.
The main disadvantage of the .IPZ format is its highly specialized, proprietary nature. These files are tightly locked into expensive, niche industrial ecosystems. Standard desktop applications and typical online converters cannot read the binary streams or proprietary database snapshots held within the file, making it incredibly difficult to share the raw measurement data with non-engineers. Furthermore, users without an active software license cannot simply open the file to view the contents.
