The .ilm file is a highly fragmented, proprietary file extension used across several distinct, often outdated software applications. Primarily, it functions as an Interactive Learning Module created by the eXeLearning authoring application. However, it is also utilized as an Interleaved Movie file by legacy software like Autodesk Animator Pro, an Image Lightbox Maker file by IrfanView, an interactive presentation by Digital Workshop Opus Pro, and even as 3D game character model data for games like Sega Phantasy Star Online and Descent 2.
These formats present severe disadvantages for modern users. They are closed, proprietary project files or obsolete legacy formats. They are not supported by web browsers, standard media players, or native operating system viewers.
