The .ihx file functions primarily as an IN-HEH Timeline Database created by the obsolete historical event manager IN-HEH Timeline. It stores structured family tree data, historical events, places, and personal records. In the software development world, .ihx is also widely used as an Intel HEX Format Data file, which stores machine language code in hexadecimal form for flashing microcontrollers.
