About IGQ files

The .IGQ file format is an Indigo Queue File created by Indigo Renderer, an unbiased, photorealistic 3D rendering engine developed by Glare Technologies. This file is used to store and manage batch rendering queues and network rendering jobs. It contains instructions and file paths directing the software on which 3D scenes to render next, rather than containing actual 3D geometry or image data.

Users often face challenges with .IGQ files because they mistake them for actual 3D models or rendered images. The primary disadvantage of this format is its strict dependency on the Indigo Renderer ecosystem. It is proprietary and entirely useless if you do not have the original software installed. You cannot open it in standard web browsers or generic image viewers.

If you need to extract the job data, converting the file to TXT or XML might reveal the plain-text file paths and render settings. However, converting this file will not produce a 3D model or a viewable picture. Standard online converters fail to process .IGQ files because they lack the specific parsing logic required for Glare Technologies' proprietary job format. While this is a closed format, if our analysis detects supported underlying text or embedded data, viewing or extracting the queue instructions may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your IGQ file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The IGQ Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our IGQ converter.
